Currently located: Prattville, AL
Job title: Business Development Manager / Art Restoration Specialist
NAWIC Position title:
2020: Membership Chair
2021: WIC Week Committee Chair (Chapter)
Tell us a little bit about your career and current position.
My background is in sales, marketing and event management for the hospitality, private club and healthcare industries. With my degree in Fine Art and career as an artist, I currently use all my skills, talents, and passion in business development of Electronic Restoration Services and Art Recovery Technologies, as well as in providing art restoration services.
How long have you been a NAWIC member, and how did you learn about NAWIC?
Currently beginning my 3rd year with NAWIC Montgomery Chapter #267. I was invited to join by current member and colleague Tina Arthur while in the healthcare (workman’s comp and occupational medicine) industry.
How has NAWIC helped you in your career?
NAWIC is a great resource for building knowledge and understanding as well as an amazing network and support system of women in all areas of, or related to, construction. In the restoration business, it’s been beneficial in understanding the commercial and environmental aspects of the construction industry, as well as the laws and regulations and safety concerns that govern our everyday actions both in the field and in the warehouse.
What is the best part about being a NAWIC member?
By far the best part of being a NAWIC member are the connections made personally with these incredible women! Each one of our NAWIC sisters is talented, bright, and beautiful and they each lead in their own way that makes it a pleasure to know them and to grow with them.
Why do you consider NAWIC to be a great organization?
Yesterday, today, and tomorrow, women will always need a network of strong women to stand behind them and empower them to do great things, and to push them through the not-so-great things with grace and tenacity. Women empowering women, especially in a traditionally male- dominated industry, is both a reward and a challenge to continue to develop and stay relevant and heard.
Congratulations to Heather for being recognized as part of our Best Person for The Job feature series. And thank you for joining NAWIC! If you know of a NAWIC member that deserves to be recognized, contact us today.
