Tell us a little bit about your career and current position.
My experience was honed at Perryman Building and Construction starting as an intern and ascending to leadership as Vice President of Administration.
How long have you been a NAWIC member, and how did you learn about NAWIC?
In my search to find opportunities to meet other women in the construction industry, I was introduced to the Philadelphia Chapter Past President and Regional Director Maura Hesdon. That introduction 6 years ago started my NAWIC journey. At a later event, I was introduced to Helen Eck, Denise Quigg, and Geraldine Burton who shared their experiences as women who have seen the industry evolve. These conversations fueled my path to continue pursuing and exploring the construction industry.
How has NAWIC helped you in your career?
NAWIC provided me the opportunity to exercise my leadership skills through various committees and board positions.
What is the best part about being a NAWIC member?
The best part about being a NAWIC member is the networking and relationship building. The connections made through NAWIC are lifelong connections, both professionally and personally. Being able to network with women in the construction industry including our tradeswomen has been a true benefit of membership.
Why do you consider NAWIC to be a great organization?
NAWIC is a great organization because it is continually improving. It has been a part of the evolution of the construction industry and continues to build on its mission; “to strengthen and amplify the success of women in the construction industry”.
